Education/ Scholarships

Born in Santiago de Chile in 1977.

Studied Visual Art at the University of Chile, where he also worked as an instructor for nude drawing. His diploma project “Mathematical Paradigms in Painting” influenced his further work as a visual artist.

In 2002 he was granted a scholarship from the Ruprecht-Karls Universität Heidelberg for an interchange programme.

In 2003 he started to work as a lecturer for drawing at the Universidad de Chile and Universidad Autonóma.

In 2006 he received the ALBAN scholarship to do postgraduate studies in visual communication at the Art Academy in Hamburg (HFBK). On completing this programme in 2008 he started a M.A. study at the same university.

In 2009 he was granted a scholarship from the Freundeskreis der HFBK Hamburg.

In 2009 he took part in physics lessons at the Hamburg University to further develop his master project.

In 2012 he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Hochschule der Bildende Künste in Hamburg. His project “The Fly” includes concepts borrowed from the field of physics.

Currently he has been accepted into the PHD programme of the HFBK Hamburg.
